Tragedies

This is a list of recent dengue tragedies, especially those closer to home. Notice that even children of medical doctors are victims of tragedies.

This list is updated often.

Tragedy:
On October 14, 2012 another dengue tragedy occurred.

But this was tragedy was very very very heartbreaking. Why? Because there is reason to believe that this tragedy could have been averted.

On the other hand, several minor events conspired, making it appear that all the obstacles arose to prevent me from helping this patient.

The patient was 23 years old. A registered nurse by profession; Chinese Filipino family; parents in the US; a student of veterinary medicine; a call center agent.

In this time and age, 2012, it is almost incredible that a registered nurse of a well-to-do family will die of dengue.

(to be continued)

Tragedy:
In the first week of August 2012, a patient who already had a platelet transfusion, was scheduled to check out of the hospital, but rapidly deteriorated in condition, and died. Unthinkable? This occurred very recently, in a private hospital, in a world-class hospital accredited by world accrediting body, with world-class doctors, with world-class equipment facilities, with the last medical protocol on how to deal with dengue.

Why did the patient die? That's how dangerous dengue is.

In contrast, during the same period, a few rooms away, in the very same world-class hospital, in the same week, another child with dengue was safely out in a few days.

What is the difference between the two patients? The girl who survived took the ADSX Solution.

Is this cause and effect? It is up to you to judge. The mother of the surviving child herself told us about the death of the child in the other room. And this mother texted me to thank for this "miracle."

And remember this happened as recently as August 2012. Are you going to allow your child to be another "oops... sorry, we cannot do anything" case?

Tragedy:
A 15-year child died in 2010 of dengue. The parents? Both are medical doctors. We are not talking about a dengue death 30 years ago when medical  research was poor. We are talking about a death in 2010, in the era of the SMS, Web, internet, google and facebook. And yet, the parents, both medical doctors, in a highly urbanized city in Mandaue, lost their child to dengue.

Think hard of this tragedy.

Both parents were medical experts being medical doctors, who are also qualified as registered nurses, connected with a world-class hospital in Cebu City. And the godmother of the child is a friend of mine.

The mother is an OB-gyne doctor.

Tragedy:
In the third week of August 2012, another dengue patient died in a different private hospital. How did we know about this? An employee of the hospital himself told us.

This occurred very recently, in a private hospital, in a world-class hospital accredited by world accrediting body, with world-class doctors, with world-class equipment facilities, with the last medical protocol on how to deal with dengue.

But  a few days before that, in the same hospital, another patient with only a platelet of 24K, scheduled for platelet transfusion, survived.

What's the difference? The boy who survived took the ADSX Solution.

Is this cause and effect? It is up to you to judge.

And remember this happened as recently as August 2012. Are you going to allow your child to be another "oops... sorry, we cannot do anything" case?

Tragedy
In the first week of Sept 2012, (yes, very recently), in the same hospital above, another dengue patient died. Why is this happening to the patients of a private world-class hospital in a span of two weeks?

Tragedy
On Oct 8, 2012, a child dengue patient died in a private hospital. Why?

The really tragic thing is this. In the same hospital, on the same days, another dengue patient happily survived.  This happy patient took the ADSX Solution, but the unknown child dengue patient who died was not referred to us.

In fact, when we learned that an unknown patient was in the ICU due to dengue, we immediately told the parent of our patient to look for that patient in the ICU and offer the patient, one of the bottles.

But unfortunately, our friend could not find the parents anymore. The unknown patient had died of dengue.

What does this mean? The fluids, the paracetamol, the monitoring, the transfusion failed to save this child. Which situation would you want to be in: with the ADSX or without the ADSX?

Tragedy
On Oct 10, 2012, another patient, 6, girl, died in the same private hospital. Why?

Please spread the news around. Starting today nobody should die of dengue.

Tragedy:
A few years ago, a grandson of the owner of the a chain of hospitals and a university died of dengue.

Can you imagine that? The family owns a university and many hospitals. The patient was in a private hospital, in a world-class hospital accredited by world accrediting body, with world-class doctors, with world-class equipment facilities, with the last medical protocol on how to deal with dengue.

Tragedy:
About three years ago, the child of the head of the pulmonary division of a private non-profit hospital died of dengue.

Can you imagine that? The parent is not some poor parent in a far-flung village. The parent is a head of the department in a private hospital in the city.

Tragedy:
About two or three years ago, the child of the head of the laboratory of a private non-profit hospital in a large city died of dengue.

Can you imagine that?

Tragedy:
About 20 years ago, as related by one of our recent patient's relatives, one daughter, an only child, died of dengue.

The parents were wailing in the emergency room saying they will pay any amount just to save the child.

But the child died in front of them.

Can you imagine that? The father of the child was a pharmacist, and the mother was herself a medical doctor.

In the above cases, dengue killed the children of doctors and rich parents.  Here is the question: Would you have recommended the ADSX Solution to these patients even if the ADSX is not "officially" declared as a "cure?"
